hii x. i am learning about Kesi at school and i think the story is absolutley shocking. Poor little orangutans being killed for fur or food. it’s such a shame i would love to adopt one but i can’t, i ain’t allowed. I just wanted to show my support, i think your doing a wonderful job raising little orangutans like this.

Hello Rachel. It is great to hear that you are learning about the threat to Orangutans at school. It is the much needed support of you and your classmates (the adults of the future) that will determine the Fate of the Orangutan and its place in our world. Maybe you could all club together as a class and adopt an orangutan?

Hello Jade. Thank you for thinking of the Orangutans. It is up to each of us who cares about their future to give them the voice that they cannot give themselves.

Hello :)
I think its amazing what you are doing and i am behined you all the way :)
At school i did my speech on Nyaru Menteng and we are going to do a charity event to raise money so we are able to adopt one of the gorgeous orangutans :)
I just have one question, if you volunteer, do you work at Nyaru Menteng in the centre in Indonesia?
Thanks for your help and good luck with everything :)

Hello Sophia,
Thank you for the kind words of support. It is very important to us that young people take an active interest in the plight of the Orangutan. With you on their side, we are sure they will continue to live in our world.
Nyaru Menteng is actually not open to the general public and volunteers. If you do volunteer, you will do so at the other project run by BOS called Samboja Lestari. You can register your interest on the BOS home page and they will send you all the information you need.
Best of luck with your fundraiser and do let us know how you get on.
For the Orangutans.
Grainne

The murder of these creatures – who share something like 97% of our DNA – is horrible. I am getting my mum to allow me to sponser one for Christmas, I’ll get less presents but I want to help the orangutan!! xx

Hiya, I’ve got an adopted orang-utan and donate as often as I can to charities that are protecting these amazing creatures. I just wanted to show my support and let you know that I’m completely behind you. My gap year is coming up and I’m arranging to work at a sanctuary for part of it. I know Nyaru Menteng doesn’t take on volunteers, but could you please give me a few names of places that do? Thanks. If we work together we can save this amazing species xox

I am a big animal lover and i think that it is great that people like you are doing all they can to save these intelligent creatures I will do my best by adopting one of them but i can only give £10.00 a month as i give a lot to other animal charaties as well.
Keep up the good work its for a very good cause and we do not want to loose our wild life

Hi, I saw a picture of Kesi on a pop-up on another website and I dont know why but it nearly brought a tear to my eye. Orangutans are just amazing creatures – they are so human-like i almost feel it is our duty to protect them. Last year I went to Thailand to work with elephants and if I can save enough money id love to do a similar thing with orangutans. lets hope we can provide them with the best quality of life possible. x

Do you have any information packs which can be used to get a class of children involved in sponsorship? Please email me with your reponse.

Many thanks

I am bringing awareness to my class about what is happening to our beautiful orangutans. I have told them all about the Don’t Palm us Off compaign by the Melbourne Zoo. I am 8 years old and it makes me very sad to see what these terrible people are doing. I hate it alot!!!!
